Of my CS2 levels, de_hollywood is my most tested and polished. It takes place in a studio in Hollywood where the director of an upcoming blockbuster want to use practical effects, but the studio execs say it’s not in the budget. Help the director to take matters into his own hands as a T or help the studio stop his madness as a CT.
With only a handful of geo changes left, I have begun doing an environment art pass on the finalized portions of the greybox. The map uses some interesting routes where each site sees a path for CTs and Ts to face combat before funneling into the site. This changes up the gameplay a bit from traditional maps where CTs would normally push out of site if they want to take an aggressive fight with Ts. Of course CTs are still given the option to hunker down on site if they please, as shown by some of the narrower routes in the radar above.
The map also features some skill jumps that allow for faster timings. Ts can use them to double peek B main from two angles, reach mid connector from a new route, or rotate between sites faster. CTs can use them to set up a fast flank or help support mid faster.
There are also many instances of verticality in this map. I find myself partial to the impact vertical changes have on aim. It rewards good crosshair placement and strong micro-adjustment skills.
