Sanctuary
A Kingdom facility on Omega Earth dedicated to using the Radianite stolen from Alpha Earth to engineer stronger plant organisms that can withstand the scorched world.
The work here features a fully blocked out map aside from some detailing in attacker and defender spawns. One idea behind the design was to have the path to A site be a short but narrow choke, while the path to B site is longer but allows attackers more space. Mid offers attackers a lot of valuable space to take, but requires paying attention to both sides defenders could hold from. Rotate times are about the same, with defenders having a 1-2 second lead, but attackers tend to begin rotating before defenders anyway, so a site anchor is important.
I’m especially proud of my work on A site. It features a pit which introduces some new angles to consider when taking a fight. Originally, there was no wall between A main and the pit, but I feel that allowed fast entry agents to plant in safety for free and the rest of the team can just use mollies. I decided to add a wall to prevent this. While a Jett or Raze could still get into pit quickly, for mollies to hit the bomb from A main the bomb needs to be planted in the open. This is very dangerous when site hasn’t been properly taken by the team. The wall also lets defenders move between site and pit more safely
I think B site is a little less strong. Maybe it could use some reworking and less clutter. It is tough to know without being able to properly playtest in Valorant. However, while it is a little more difficult to take than A, it is also more difficult to retake, offering attackers a reward for taking the challenge.
